Sh. Khalid Abduroaf was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He is an Imaam, lecturer, and educator at the Highlands Waqaf Trust (Incorporating Masjidur-Raoof and Madrasatur-Raoof) and the coordinator of the HWT Shariah Research Board, based in Highlands Estate, Cape Town. He is also a Marriage Officer of the Department of Home Affairs and a Sworn Translator of the High Court of South Africa.

Sh. Khalid Abduroaf obtained his initial Islamic studies by sitting in the classes of his father Sh. Abduroaf Abduroaf, who is a graduate from the Islamic University of Madinah. After completing his High School career, he furthered his Studies in the field of Arabic at the Imaam Suyuti Institute. He thereafter traveled to Madinah, Saudi Arabia, where he completed a Diploma in Arabic Studies and an LLB Degree in Shariah Law along with a Post Graduated Certificate in Education at the Islamic University of Madinah.
